Sandia Heights is a residential development comprised of approximately 1,600 acres located at the foot of the beautiful Sandia Mountains, just east of Albuquerque. The area consists of many subdivisions and home areas, from townhomes to large estates. There is a large emphasis on protecting the natural landscape and wildlife, therefore you will not see many traditional "lawns", but rather rolling stretches of natural fauna and wildflowers, mixed with boulders and pinon. You will see occasional deer, hawks and eagles sharing the space.
There are currently about 2,200 residences, with a population of approximately 5,200. Homes in this area will begin at approximately $250,000 for a small patio or townhome, up to $2,000,000 for large estates.
Residents of Sandia Heights love their natural surroundings and often their home interiors reflect that love of nature. Many homes make use of natural stone materials for floors, fireplaces and counter tops. Many homes are set on hilly oversized lots to make use of the natural terrain.
Views are of the utmost value in this area.
